Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To detect the imagined limb from EEG related to the motor imagery for the use in BCI, the spatial filter using neighboring channels was commonly used. But, the spatial filter has been selected mainly by the empirical method on trial-and-error basis. In this study, we recorded the EEG during left hand, right hand and feet motor imagery from five subjects and the ICA was applied to discovering the spatial filter for extracting event-related EEG components to the motor imagery. It was shown that the spatial filter can be generated semi-automatically by applying ICA to recorded multichannel EEG.
