Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Since muscular strength training consists of repetitive exercise, the target muscle easily tends to accumulate muscle fatigue. In the actual training, due to the lack of handy methods to assess muscle fatigue, we often rely on trainer's objective judgment. Therefore, it's often reported that the accumulation of muscle fatigue caused injury or deterioration of the health care. If it's possible to feed muscle fatigue information to a user on line, we could solve this problem. For that purpose, we have been focusing on electrophysiological methods using surface EMG, and tried to establish a system which quantify muscle fatigue and to display muscle fatigue indices to the user visually. Our experimental results at present suggested that the surface EMG includes much functional information on muscle activity and might be useful to observe muscle fatigue.
