Abstract(in English) This paper presents the throughput performance evaluation of asymmetric carrier aggregation (CA) for LTE-Advanced uplink and downlink using real-time baseband experimental equipment. The implemented LTE-Advanced transceiver with 20-100 MHz bandwidth in the downlink and 20-40 MHz bandwidth in the uplink employs packet data channel with adaptive modulation and coding (AMC). The evaluation results elucidate that AMC using multi-level modulation such as 64QAM in the uplink is effective for CA with 2 component carriers (CCs) and 1-by-2 SIMO even under the multipath fading environment, and the throughput of higher than 100 Mbps is achieved at the average received signal-to-noise power ratio (SNR) of greater than 16 dB. Furthermore, it is shown that when the feedback control signaling for 5 CCs in the downlink is carried via the uplink shared data channel, its required block error rate performance is almost satisfied even applying AMC using multi-level modulation in the uplink. Moreover, it is clarified that the high throughput of 500 Mbps (half throughput of 1 Gbps which is achieved using 4-by-4 MIMO multiplexing) is achieved at the average received SNR of approximately 22 dB even considering feedback control signaling (CQI) error, when CA with 5 CCs and 2-by-2 MIMO multiplexing are applied.
