Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Since inattentive driving occupies 15% of the cause of automobile accident, many companies are developing various systems to prevent it. Most of such system utilize a visible light camera and many image processing algorithms to detect face-direction. From the viewpoint of the whole system cost including, their way has disadvantage. Since they requires a general-purpose processor to process many image processing. CalsonicKansei Co. is developing novel and low-cost system of detect face-direction. This utilizes an infrared camera, relativly simple calculation and economical FPGA. Here, we use Impulse C, one of the High-Level Synthesis for FPGA, to implement this algorithm instead of RTL. High-Level Synthesis automatically generates RTL through Standard ANSI-C so as to shorten developing time. On the otherhand, it needs some knowledge to optimize. In this paper, we implement face-direction detection algorithm for FPGA using Impulse C and explain optimization technique.
