Abstract(in English) | These days, acquisition of 3-D volume data becomes popular in medical field. However, to obtain 3-D data in dental field is still difficult. When dentists make diagnosis and medical treatments, they use 2-D data which are obtained with panoramic X-ray imaging and a dental model which is obtained from a dental impression. 2-D data do not have volumetric information and a dental cast model does not have information inside alveolar ridge. The authors propose the method to make registration between 2-D panoramic X-ray image and 3-D volume data for crowded dental arch. |
