Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a system to monitor human's gait by using a cellular phone. The main feature of this technology applies signal processing to the acceleration signals to differentiate segments of walking and to identify details of the gait. In addition, we discuss possibility to measure influence of various conditions for gait through some experiments. Compared to conventional measurements of gait made in a medical facility, there is a possibility to expand scope in time and space of gait monitoring by using our method. We expect to apply our method to various fields like urban design and services for customers, as well as medical and healthcare fields.
