Proposal of Ad Hoc Multicast Routing Protocol with Route Aggregation and Transmission Power Control

Abstract(in English) Recently, multicast delivery methods for delivering data packets to multiple nodes are examined in ad hoc networks. However, broadcast modes are used for multicast delivery when the IEEE 802.11 is employed for ad hoc networks. It is known that hidden node problems occur when broadcast modes are used in the IEEE 802.11. Data packet collisions occur due to hidden node problems because some forwarding nodes transmit same data packets at same instance for multicast delivery. In this paper, we propose a transmission power control method for ad hoc multicasting. In the proposed method, nodes control transmission power of data packet by exchanging of control messages about required transmission power. Additionally, nodes aggregate routes by informing number of downstream nodes. Prom simulation results, we can find that the proposed method can improve packet delivery ration by suppressing hidden node problems.
