Pricing Method of Resource Reservation Services for Corporate Users

Abstract(in English) Resource reservation services, which have been emerging recently in IP networks, are expected to be promising telecommunication services for corporate business use. Therefore, it is an important issue to clarify a service providing method both improving corporate users' satisfaction and service provider's profitability. This paper defines the function of corporate users' utility by willingness to pay for their bandwidth, and it evaluates the relation among service price, users' utility, and provider's revenue. Some numerical results show a pricing strategy rational from the viewpoint of users' utility and provider's profitability that the services are provided initially by a high price and that the price is reduced as users' requirement for their bandwidth rises.
