Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Networks including high-functional nodes (HNs) that have packet recovery processes such as retransmission are currently being studied in order to improve live streaming QoS. To utilize packet recovery processes of HN effectively, Novel Link Weight Method has been proposed as a path configuration method for HN networks. However, this method may sometimes configure inappropriate paths because this link weight does not take into account interaction of delay among all links on a path. Thus, we propose a new path configuration method that considers delay (including packet recovery delay) on each link in a path. In our method, we define the probability distribution of delay and use convolution of the probability distribution. We also define the transmission success rate, that is, the probability of completing receiving packets within allowable delay. Moreover, we propose an algorithm that configures paths having maximum transmission success rate. In a simulation, we showed that our method is more suitable for path configuration for HN networks than conventional methods.
