Increase in measurement accuracy of tissue displacement vector using rotation of coordinate system

Abstract(in English) By using a beam steering and an apodization properly, a higher lateral resolution echo imaging is performed by us than a conventional imaging. This is achieved by superimposing a crossed, steered beams, which we refer to as a lateral modulation (LM). The beamforming achieves almost the same accuracy in a lateral displacement measurement as that in an axial displacement measurement, i.e., a displacement vector measurement. In addition, ASTA is also proposed by us, which uses only beams with a steering angle. The simple beamforming also yields a displacement vector measurement. When performing ASTA, a spectra division must be performed to use our previously developed multidimensional autocorrelation or Doppler method. In this report, for LM and ASTA, the accuracies in displacement vector and lateral displacement measurements are evaluated through simulations and agar phantom experiments. The parameters used are, a direction of displacement vector, steering angles, and a rotation angle of the coordinate system. The change in a steering angle and rotation angle of coordinate system allows controlling frequencies in the respective directions. As a version of ASTA, the effectiveness of the disregard of low frequency spectra is also confirmed.
