Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Detection of micro crack using two techniques is reported. One technique is the laser ultrasonics. Another is the exaction of crack, using low frequency and large amplitude ultrasonic wave transmitted by a ceramic transducer to open and close the crack. Laser induced ultrasonic wave propagated solid specimen contained crack, and then measured by the attached PVDF transducers. By scanning laser irradiating point, distribution map of the crack was obtained. Used an acrylic specimen, we visually compared distribution map with the actual position of crack tips.
