Report of Proof-of-concept Experiment and Live Demonstration of Dynamic Optical Path Network over JGN2plus Optical-fiber Testbed

Abstract(in English) Dynamic Optical path networks attract much attention for handling ultra-high definition movie contents under the low power consumption condition on the networks. For realizing such networks, optimal combination of the network and storage resource management and the dynamic optical layer switching technologies such as highly integrated silicon matrix switches, fast optical tunable dispersion compensators, and dynamic ROADM becomes a key. In this paper, the dynamic optical path network that is developed by AIST in collaboration with five IT-related companies under the VICTORIES program, and the optical packet & circuit integrated network for new-generation network that is realized by NICT are demonstrated on the JGN2plus testbed that has field optical fiber connections between Otemachi and Koganei. Ultra-high definition video signals developed by NHK are also transmitted through these demo networks. These demonstrations show the promising optical network technologies for future, beyond the limitation of the conventional communication capacities.
