Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The minimum limit of cladding diameter of Multi-Core SMF in case of 7 cores was derived as 210 μm from the investigation of the minimum cladding thickness and core pitch. To guarantee the reliability of this minimum cladding diameter, the proof level should be raised up to 1.5 % or the minimum bending radius should be suppressed below 50 mm in case the proof level of 1 %. Moreover, it was also suggested that the Multi-Core Fiber with 10 times higher core density than conventional SMF can be realized by increasing the core numbers to 61 and assuring the proof level of 2 % and minimum bending radius of 50 mm, simultaneously.
