Abstract(in English) | Recently, the radio-on-fiber (ROF) system was proposed for mobile communication network in order to eliminate the radio blind area. The antenna distribution system constructed by the coupler and the coaxial cable is used for the ROF system. In this system, it is required not only broadband characteristics but also low profile, because the antenna is installed on the in-building ceiling. Authors have proposed a top-loaded monopole antenna (TLMA) to satisfy these necessities. The TLMA consists of a circular capacitance disk, a planar triangular radiate element, and oblique short pins for impedance matching. Furthermore, the TLMA with folded rim that is installed on the edge of ground plane is proposed, and the bandwidth of 17.5% is achieved at the antenna height of 0.03A,. However, the impedance matching cannot be achieved when the antenna height is less than 0.03λ. Therefore, this paper presents a leaky wave antenna using low profile and broadband composite right/left-handed transmission line (CRLH-TL). If the unit cell of the CRLH-TL satisfies the balance condition, Bloch impedance (ZB) become constant, and the broadband leaky wave radiation is realized. In addition, its radiation characteristic is similar to monopolar pattern. The broadband center-feed structure is designed, and bandwidth of 50% is achieved at the antenna height of 0.03λ. |
