Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A dual circularly polarized radial line slot antenna (DCP-RLSA) using lightweight honeycomb structures as waveguides is investigated. Required specifications are relative bandwidth of 5% (±2.5%), gain of 20dBi, diameter of 8 wavelengths and cross polarization discrimination (XPD) of 30dB. The DCP-RLSA is composed of two layers of radial waveguide connected by a circular E bend and two feeding structures for rotating mode excitations on the front and the back sides. Measured result shows over 20dBi directivities in the required bandwidth of 5%. However, XPDs for operations of the right- and the left-handed circular polarizations are reduced to 13.5dB and 21.3dB, respectively. In this paper, main reason of XPD reduction is a degradation of the rotating mode quality and a reflection of residual power in the RLSA in conclusion.
