Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Multiuser (MU) - multiple input multiple output (MIMO) techniques are attractive since they allow a small number of antennas at user stations (STAs) to increase the downlink spectrum efficiency. Although MU-MIMO requires accurate channel state information (CSI) at the transmitter, CSI at the transmitter (CSIT) suffers from estimation errors in practical systems because of quantization error, time varying channels, and the distance between the access point (AP) and STA. The CSIT error causes inter user interference (IUI), which degrades the transmission performance in MU-MIMO. We propose a power allocation scheme that overcomes the transmission performance deterioration due to the imperfect CSIT. The scheme identifies the primary STA and then calculates the ratio of the transmission power for the primary STA and that of the other STAs based on CSIT error information. The scheme reduces the transmission performance degradation in the STA with large CSIT error while increasing the sum rate compared to single user MIMO (SU-MIMO) systems.
