Abstract(in English) | Cooperation between a user's mobile device and a public device enables a user to use a device appropriate for user's situation. Competition among multiple users may occur, if multiple users concurrently require to use the same public device. In order to prevent this competition, ad-hoc pairing methods, which dynamically generates a pair of a mobile device and a public device, are proposed. Only the mobile device of the pair same as the public device is provided the right to use the public device. In method [2], to generate a pair of devices, both devices transmit a pairing request to the pairing server, and the pairing server picks out the pair of requests that are received within a threshold period. This method has the advantage of no communication required between both devices. However, a problem that the pairing server does not pick out the pair of requests occurs, when the pairing server concurrently receives many pairing requests. In this case, the user has to execute the pairing procedure again. In this paper, we newly propose ad-hoc pairing, which generates pair of a user's mobile device and the required public device, even if the pairing server concurrently receives many pairing requests. In the proposed method, both devices transmit the pairing request including the same pairing ID. This pairing ID enables the pairing server to pick out the proper pair of requests. We measure the period required for pairing procedure via the implemented system to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed method. |
