Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The authors introduce the Data Transfer system that makes fast file transmission possible over multiple network paths (communication media), in each of which long delays, heavy packet losses, or frequent disconnections are seen and traditional end-to-end communications are likely not to work well. The proposed system can handle control information separately from data flow, taking an advantage of combination of multiple and different types of communication media: stable low data rate channels and dynamically changing unstable high data rate ones. We developed a prototype and conducted experiments using a terrestrial network (3G) and satellite communication system "KIZUNA" (WINDS) in June 2010.
