Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Abstract Pre-congestion notification (PCN) gives early warning of congestion by metering and marking packets in order to protect the quality of service of inelastic flows. We focus on marking algorithms and admission control using the algorithms. We analyze the performances of admission controls using threshold marking and that using fractional marking. Although the threshold marking marks all of traffic when the load of the traffic is higher than con figured rate, the fractional marking marks 1/N of traffic. One-bit for threshold marking distinguish the load of a link into two states, whereas one for the fractional marking can distinguish the load of a link into three states by using another mechanism that marks all traffic. We compare the performances of admission controls based on both marking algorithms. We show that both performances are almost the same.
