Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Detection of anatomical landmarks on 3D medical images is an our recent research topic. The anatomical landmarks, which are local structures as a part of inner organs or bones, often play key role in medical image understanding. In this study, 3D extended SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform), which is a method to detect key-points from images and to describe detected key-points as HoG (Histogram of Gaussian) base features, is utilized to detect anatomical landmarks. Landmark detection performance of 3D-SIFT was evaluated experimentally and was compared with the detection accuracy by appearance-based method we proposed previously.
