Abstract(in English) | Satellite/Terrestrial Integrated Mobile Communication System (STICS) is a mobile communications system which shares a particular frequency band by terrestrial and satellite systems. The interference level of satellite link caused by mobile terminals using terrestrial link has been estimated as part of the determination of frequency sharing condition between terrestrial and satellite systems. For more precise estimation, it is necessary to estimate variation of the interference level depending on the propagation environment around the usage site of cellular phone such as outdoor and indoor environment. Therefore we constructed the experimental system using an IMT-2000 cellular phone and a pseudo satellite mimicking aforementioned situation. The fundamental experiment has been carried out in outdoor/indoor environment in NICT headquarter site (Koganei, Tokyo, Japan). First, this paper explains the interference path for this study in STICS, and describes the experimental system and the experimental site. Then, the characteristics of received signal power in the pseudo satellite and the transmit signal power of the cellular phone under transmit power control (TPC) are shown. Moreover, the propagation loss in the outdoor experiment is analyzed for LOS/NLOS conditions. For the indoor experiment, the relationship between distance from window and receiving signal level in the pseudo satellite is analyzed. |
