A Study on Estimation of Radiation Patterns of a Dipole Antenna by Planar-scanning Near-field to Far-field Transformation

Abstract(in English) In this report, far-field antenna patterns of a half-wavelength dipole antenna at 1GHz were estimated by the method of planar-scanning near-field measurement applying the equivalent theorem. At first, E- and H- field around a dipole antenna were analyzed, and the intervals of near-field-sampling (Δx,Δy,Δz) of tangential components of field data on the surface of a virtual box (L×L×L) were considered to make sure the convergence of estimation. At the measurement, antenna factors of E- and H- probes were determined by a comparison between the analysis and measurement values of each position. At each potion, measured field data were corrected by the antenna factors, and far-field antenna patterns were estimated. As a result, far-field antenna patterns at the condition of Δx=Δy=Δz=L/2 using corrected field data were good agreement with analysis results.
