A proposal of cloud service model to cooperate with home appliances

Abstract(in English) Recently, cloud services that use device location information are becoming popular among mobile user. But local resources on a device, such as geographic location data are substantial private information. In the usual cloud service model, a device discloses local resources as raw data to cloud services, so the device cannot control secondary use of the local resources. Thus the model raises serious privacy concerns. In this paper, we propose a new cloud service model that a device receives data set from a cloud service, processes it by using local resources in private area of the device and output the only result of processing. So this model can prevent local resources from disclosing to cloud service. Then this paper presents the concrete architecture of the model and the result of feasibility study by prototyping a cloud service based on the model.
