Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a novel joint RSS (Received Signal Strength)/TOA (Time Of Arrival)-based MAP (Maximum A Posteriori) location estimation method in cellular systems. For the realization of the MAP estimation, we derive a posteriori pdf (Probability Density function) of the first arrival signal from an IPDP (Instantaneous Power Delay Profile) for an BS (Base Station), which an MS (Mobile Station) can estimates, and the proposed MAP estimation method estimates the MS location which maximizes the posteriori pdf for multiple BSs. Our computer simulation results demonstrate that the proposed joint TOA/RSS-based MAP location estimation method is superior to a conventional TOA-based LS (Least Square) location estimation method in term of location estimation accuracy.
