抄録(英) | We are carrying out feasibility study for the next-generation broadcasting and communication satellite, unofficially called as K-STAR. The K-STAR is proposed for the geo-synchronous orbit for stable broadcasting and communication around the Korean peninsula and will also contain instruments for the space environment monitoring. Now, we are performing the preliminary study on the space environment monitoring instruments to provide the data to and so to support the space-weather-forecasting activities of 'Space Radio Research Center' which is under construction in Jeju island. We have established the mission requirements for the space environment monitoring instruments of K-STAR. We have determined the instrument candidates considering usefulness of the data for space weather forecasting and the current technology developments. The instrument candidates are solar UV & X-ray flux sensor, Solar EUV Imager, Coronagraph, Ionspheric Monitoring Spectrograph, Energetic Particle Detector, and Magnetometer. The space environment monitoring instruments for K-STAR will form a part of international cooperation in the space environment research and will supplement the measurement data of GOES SEM module. |
