Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Image evaluation method is necessary for not only studying the image restoration but also development of image/video equipments. The most common assessment amount for images is the Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR). However, same PSNR images cannot feel the same quality images if the degradation factor for images are different. Even if degradation factor is same, same PSNR of different kind of images are also feel different. In this paper, limited to images corrupted by Gaussian noise, perceptible degradation limit PSNR which is called Deterioration Perception Threshold (DPT) to investigate a lot of kind of images. DPT is depended on the kind of images. If images have same value which is obtained by subtracting DPT from PSNR, these images can be considered as a same subjective quality. However, DPT is measured for limited to test images. Thus, we need to show the DPT estimation method from simple image feature. We focus on the amount of edge of images as a image feature, discuss the correlation between DPT and the feature.
