Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes and evaluates multiplexed-traffic shaping function with multiple-route incorporated to Fiber Delay Line (FDL) buffers. In multi-wavelength optical packet switching, trunk transmission capacity of every network section must be unified to avoid costly format conversion hardware. In our previous work, we proposed traffic shaping at low traffic section to reduce loss rate at bottleneck section, and the self control method for shaper to decide appropriate shaping parameter. Performance improvement was evaluated in a simplified network model. This paper investigates traffic shaping in more realistic network environment where multiplexed-traffic shaping is needed for multiple route destined to different rout in a shaper. Performance improvement by a multiplexed shaper is shown through computer simulations, and also appropriate traffic aggregation level for shaping is discussed to flexible cope with changing bottleneck environment.
