| Abstract(in English) | Cable television is one of the most important media infrastructure, considering that its penetration ratio in TV service reaches almost 50% of the whole households in Japan, and it has also promoted the spread of broadband Internet access from very early stage. It is also noted that technical and service innovation is still on-going. In this talk, a brief overview of cable television is provided as an elemental knowledge. Then, the latest trend is addressed in various aspects such as technology, standardization and service. Finally, the future of video media service is discussed. |
