Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper analyzes the efficiency of probe data acquisition through vehicle-to-vehicle communications in a network of urban streets with simulation studies. The probe data are transmitted from a vehicle to another vehicle one after the other to acquire data regarding the whole network. In the simulation, the life time of the data, vehicle speeds, which are determined by the traffic density of a link, and the communication range are modeled. The results indicate that at a low penetration rate of the unit at a medium vehicle speed, the efficiency of the acquisition is the largest.
