Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The maximum symbol rate at which a digital coherent receiver can process is strictly limited by the operation speed of analog-to-digital converters. This speed limitation can be overcome by parallelization of the signal in advance of electronic analog-to-digital conversion. We have demonstrated that ultrafast optical multilevel-coded signals can be effectively demodulated with parallel optical time sampling. On the other hand, parallelization of the optical signal can also be conducted in the frequency domain. In this case, it is effective to divide signals into multiple subbands. In this article, we propose a digital coherent receiver having the subbanding function and investigate characteristics of such a receiver with computer simulations and experiments.
