Abstract(in English) Coherent receivers for optical signals have attracted lots of attention because of good frequency utilization. However they need an Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) of several hundreds GHz to convert over 100Gbit/s/ch wideband signals to digital signals while it is technically difficult to early produce such a very high speed ADC. Therefore we propose using a band-divided receiver for optical wideband signals. The receiver is based on a heterodyne receiver structure, which enables it to divide wideband signals into a number of narrow band signals by analog band pass filter in electric domain. Each narrow band signal is converted to an I/Q signal pair, after which an I/Q signal pair is converted to a digital signal by a low-sampling rate ADC. We developed its prototype and evaluated it by experiment. In addition to the prototype, we developed a real-time OFDM demodulator. We verified that the band-divided receiver prototype with the real-time OFDM demodulator can demodulate single-polarization 12Gbit/s OFDM signals using 1.5GS/s ADC in real-time.
