CL-band wavelength-tunable synchronized sub-ps optical pulse generation

Abstract(in English) Stable optical pulse source having temporal widths less than picosecond and synchronizing to reference clock is necessary for all-optical signal processing system. In this report CL-band wavelength-tunable optical pulse synchronized to reference signal is generated by combination of CPF optical pulse compression and phase synchronization using optical feedback. At the wavelength of from 1530 to 1590nm, it is confirmed that 40GHz repetition rate 1.6, 0.8, 0.4ps optical pulse trains are generated and peak-pedestal ratio of generated optical pulse is more than 15dB. Timing drift and jitter of generated pulse train were both less than 300fs (RMS).
