Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the down-link for mobile communications, there has been probrem that spatial multiplexing is limited because mobile terminal should be small while the number of receiving antenna restricts quantities of streams which can be multiplexed. Therefore, an architecture has been proposed which can decode transmitted PSK modulated signals when the number of transmitting streams ecxeeds the number of receiving antenna. This receiver utilize the idea called virtual channels which can double the number of antennas at the receiver virtually. In this manuscript, we introduce how to apply the idea called virtual channels to QAM modulated signals and compare various detection scheme by showing their BER performance and complexity of calcuration. Moreover, we propose additional scheme to improve BER performance of this detection scheme. The performance of the introduced architecture is verified using computer simulations.
