Free-space Optical Communication System with CMOS Image Sensor

Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a free-space optical communication system toward car-to-car and road-to-car communication. In this system, the signal is transmitted from LED and received by a camera whose CMOS image sensor is newly developed. The image sensor receives high-speed optical signal and tracks the transmitter in the field of view in case that moves. The BER of less than 10^<-5> is attained at 10Mbps operation in the indoor and outdoor experiment.
