Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In DWDM transmission systems, Four-wave mixing (FWM) is one of the serious factor limiting fiber-launched power. This paper proposes a simple but effective technique to suppress FWM-induced crosstalk by shifting initial phases of FWM lights generated through transmission over a dispersion-shifted fiber by phase-locked multi carrier. A calculation results show a FWM-induced crosstalk suppression ratio of 99% for some channel and exceeded an average suppression ratio of 80% for 16 channels. A simulation for eye-diagram and bit error-rate verified the effectiveness in a 16-channel DWDM transmission model utilizing intensity modulation (IM) and direct detection.
