Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The next generation wireless networks integrate various networks together to provide the ubiquitous wireless access. The benefit of emerging heterogeneous networks is supporting users experience with seamless connectivity. Vertical handoff which is a handoff between in heterogeneous networks becomes a major concern in mobility management. In this paper, we propose the seamless vertical handoff scheme with the aid of GPS for heterogeneous networks, which is considered in the overlaid areas. We proposed Fuzzy Logic Based Decision (FLD) concept to evaluate the performance of the candidate networks and selects the best one to be the target network. One of the parameter residual time that is calculated from GPS information would be caused of reduction in number of unnecessary handoff.
