Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In ad hoc networks, it is hard to unify the management of network state due to an autonomously decentralized manner for network construction mechanism by mobile terminals. Topological changes may increase the traffic load on a certain terminal or location, and thus that will degrade the fairness of the whole network. As concerns this problem, the methods that modify routing mechanisms to balance the traffic load have been proposed. However, they need extra control sequence for the route modification and hardly adapt to the environment where the traffic changes in a short period. In this paper, to balance the load efficiently in ad hoc networks, cross-layer transmission rate control method is proposed. The proposed method controls the transmission rate, by limiting the maximum, depending on the state of the transmission route, and thus avoids the concentrated traffic and collisions. The performance and efficiency of the proposed method is also clarified by computer simulation.
