| 抄録(和) | 歴史的に見ると,技術や社会の変化に伴って,プライバシー概念は拡張してきた。情報技術の発達した1960年代以降,情報プライバシーに対する関心が高まっている。近年,情報プライバシー理論として,自己アイデンティティ情報とその提示をコントロールできるかどうかに着目する理論が,複数の論者によって提起されている。内在的価値である自律とプライバシーの関係をかなり明確に説明できることや,公共空間におけるプライバシー問題(とくに,データマイニング)に関する私たちの不安の理由を明晰に説明できる点で,この理論には確かに優れた面がある。しかしながら,どのような情報がプライバシーとなるかは文脈依存的であり,状況や文脈を無視して,情報のコントロールのみに着目する本理論には限界がある。 |
| 抄録(英) | The concept of Privacy has enlarged with changes in technology and society. After the 1960s, when modern information technology, such as computer networks and database management started to develop rapidly, informational privacy began to evoke social concerns and academic dispute. Several scholars has proposed privacy theories that examine the extent to which someone can control others' access to and one's own presentation of self-identity. This type of theory has important merits: it explains why invasion of privacy will threaten the value of autonomy and why we should be concerned about a new kind of privacy problem--privacy in public, like data mining mass fragmental data on a large number of people. However, the same information may or may not be private, depending on the context and situation; so, we cannot neglect the situation and context when we form a privacy theory. |
