Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The importance of recognizing human's internal status, such as, fatigue, sleepiness, comfortableness, likes and dislikes, to construct a an environment where humans and machines can freely and flexibly communicate each other. Detection and unified recognition of transition in facial expression and body motion is important, however, hard problem of separation among total face motion and motion of several facial components must be solved. This paper proposes an automatic motion capturing method based on facial components recognition and utilization of independent motion detection filters correspond to facial component. Total face motion is compensated by subtracting the optical flow vector of non-transform component from each optical flow vectors. Experimental results have shown basic effectiveness of the proposed method.
