Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Abstract The present study aimed to explore the attitudes toward suicide in 26 individuals who had a traumatic brain injury (TBI). As compared with the control group (n=25), those with TBI tended to express a greater dislike of suicide. However, some individuals with TBI related their own history of suicidal ideation or suicide attempts. In contrast, the control group tended to express freedom to attempt suicide as well as related collateral damage resulting from it. These differences are discussed in terms of the subjectivity and self-disclosure revealed in communication with individuals with TBI.
