Sound Image Presentation System on Large Screen Using Parametric Loudspeaker

Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a sound image presentation system on large screen using parametric loudspeaker and paraboloid reflector diffusing the directional sound on the screen. The diffusion of an ultrasonic directional sound on a paraboloid forms a sound focus of the paraboloid, and enables a clear sound image at any point on the screen. Evaluation of the proposed system implemented as a large screen with a projector shows that the proposed system has 26 % higher sound localization accuracy than a conventional sound localization method, Vector Base Amplitude Panning method.
