Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Along with miniaturization of CMOS-LSIs, it becomes the biggest issue that analog circuits don't go with Moore's Law. In particular, it is inevitable for ADCs to be minimized. We investigated an analog-to-digital conversion method that once convert analog signal to time difference signal. The time difference signal is digitized by the time difference to digital converter. The new analog-to-digital converter needs neither capacitors nor resistors, which means almost of all circuits are configured by standard cells. Thus, the new converter can be downsized along with Moore's Law. In addition, the converter is reconfigurable so that it can configure both pipeline and cyclic structure. This paper describes several fundamental circuits on ADC using time dimension.
