Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Series stub circuits in which a balanced transmission line is unilaterally loaded with a stub in series are analyzed and their mixed-mode scattering matrix is formulated with pencil-and-paper to demonstrate their wideband distinct mode- conversion characteristics. It is also shown that a series stub cannot be simply replaced with its differential mode impedance but can only be approximated under certain conditions. The formulation verifies a phase-shifter model of the simplest series short stub. Theory can be applied to the antenna currents generated at switch branches when odd-mode signals are applied to the domestic power-line network for power-line telecommunications (PLT).
