Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Knowing traffic characteristics of typical applications is important for making and evaluating QoS (Quality of Service) controls. Thin-client communication system is becoming significant. Based on a previous research on packet inter-arrival time distributions as the characteristics in a wired network, the distribution in a wireless network has been investigated. The characteristics must differ between values such as RTT of TCP and volume and patterns of generated data, which can be selected from screen resolution parameters. Experimental results show that the characteristics in wireless networks are different from that in wired networks, especially when large RTT is applied. |
