Abstract(in English) | A network analyzer with an open-ended coaxial probe is often used to measure the complex relative permittivities of materials. Using this system, we previously measured complex relative permittivities of red wine in the frequency range from 200MHz to 6GHz in order to evaluate the quality. The result showed that its Cole-Cole plot consists of a semi-circle at frequencies above 1GHz and a straight line in the frequency region below 1GHz, which come from the alcoholic concentration and impurities of red wine, respectively. This fmding suggests that measurement of the dispersion parameters for the straight line is indispensable to evaluation of wine, while the probe used does not work at frequencies below 200MHz. In this study, to examine the complex relative permittivities of red wine in the frequency range below 200MHz, we measured the complex relative permittivities of pure water in the frequency range from 300KHz to 500MHz together with relative errors to the values calculated from an empirical equation for water permittivity. As a result, we found that the real part has a relative error of less than 1.5 % at frequencies above 2 MHz, though the imaginary part has relative errors of leas than 25% and 10% at frequencies above 100MHz and 200MHz, respectively. With the same probe, we measured complex relative permittivites of red wine from 300kHz to 6GHz to reveal that the real part can well be expressed at frequencies above 10MHz from an equation for the dispersion characteristics of red wine we previously proposed. |
