Er Fiber Laser Oscillation with Polysilane Optical Waveguide Grating

Abstract(in English) Polysilane optical waveguide Bragg grating (PWBG) was fabricated by the two-beam interference method on the photo-sensitive polysilane waveguide on the Si substrate at the Bragg wavelength of 1.55 μm. The slope of -0.14nm/℃ in the Bragg wavelength tuning characteristics due to temperature change was obtained by changing the effective refractive index of the PWBG heated when the TE polarized laser light is injected into the PWBG. Detuning of 1555~1549nm was obtained with the temperature change of 30~70℃ on the PWBG when the PWBG was used as a mirror in the Er doped fiber laser resonator. The polarization effect in the Er laser oscillation was discussed on the oscillation wavelength change due to temperature.
