Passive Optical Circuit by Single-Mode Light-Induced Self-Written Technology

Abstract(in English) Light-induced self-written (LISW) waveguide attracts the expectation of the application to the optical fiber connection, as the technology which can realize simply and low-costly process. In our previous work, we reported the formation of the single-mode optical waveguide with over 30 mm, furthermore 2 or 4 branched waveguides and curved waveguide. In this report we formed the grating to the LISW material by irradiating the violet laser diode through the phase mask. The period of the fabricated grating was ~520nm. In addition to we succeeded in construction of the bandpass filter, which reflects only the 1558 nm wavelength, by forming the grating in the LISW waveguide.
