A Study on Information Assurance for Hearing Impaired Students via Area One-Segment Broadcasting

Abstract(in English) Area One segment-Broadcasting(Area One-Seg) has been used for information service for the users who exist particular area. In this report, we constructed the remote sign language interpret / real-time caption providing system via Area One-Seg, and conducted hearing impaired students survey at actual lecture scene. The results show that about 80% of students presented positive response, and effectiveness of captioning history. Moreover, expected feature of One-Seg receiver to provide information assurance, and acquiring a broadcasting license are also discussed.
