| 抄録(和) | 指文字は聴覚障害者に欠かせないコミュニケーション手段の1つであり,46種類の手形状で構成される.本研究では動きを伴わない41種類の指文字を対象とし,統計的なパターン認識手法である相互部分空間法をベースに多視点画像を用いた指文字認識システムの構築を試みる.このシステム構築において,認識用の辞書を生成するためには,様々な個人性,形状変化,照明条件などを反映した大量の学習サンプルが必要となる.しかしながら,このような実画像の収集には多大な困難が伴う.そこで本研究では上記の多様な条件を反映した手形状CGデータを大量に合成し,これらをシステム学習に用いることを検討する.合成した指文字CG画像から生成した辞書は,実指文字画像から生成した辞書と同等の性能を持つことを評価実験により示す. |
| 抄録(英) | The communication with fingerspellings is an important mean for hearing impaired people. It consists of 46 kinds of hand-shapes. In this paper, we consider non-motional fingerspellings of them as targets to be classified. We built the recognition system of these fingerspellings based on statistical pattern recognition method, Mutual Subspace Method (MSM). A lot of learning samples are required to derive the effectiveness of the MSM. However, the collection of such various images of finger spellings is difficult. To overcome this problem, we propose the framework of learning system by using hand images synthesized by Computer Graphics techniques. The experiments show that effectiveness of synthetic hand images is the same or more than that of real hand images. |
