Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A new fan-out adapter has been proposed and fabricated by applying the novel jacket removing system with a CO_2 laser. The fan-out adapter has 2 MT connector interfaces and 4 individual single-connector interfaces, including the fan-out structure inside the adapter. The fan-out adapter was fabricated by the processes of 2 types of connectorizations, i.e. MT and SC connectors, and the coating removing processes were made automatically. The length of the fabricated adapter was 27 mm, clarifying that the size can be reduced dramatically. The connection losses were comparable to the values by commercially available SC and MT connectors.
